A Previous Current Virtual Church Message

One Moment Please

Sylvia reached out gently and slowly with a small piece of lettuce to rabbit Brown Spot. Sylvia fed the rabbits that came into her back yard in the desert. Because of the severe drought, even for this desert region, the normal amount of green vegetation was nowhere to be found. The rabbits in Sylvia 's yard were all wild but they grew tame enough to be in the yard when Sylvia was out to feed them. It was the first Tuesday of the month and on the first Tuesday Sylvia had to unlock the back gate to let the meter reader in the yard.

This time a woman in her late twenties tapped on the gate to draw Sylvia's attention. Sylvia looked up and waved the young woman on into the yard. The young woman moved toward Sylvia and said "Good morning". Sylvia replied back "Good morning. You are new. I have not seen you read the meter before." The young woman smiled and said "Well, I am not the meter reader. I am a messenger. Do you like to feed the rabbits?" Sylvia looked surprised since no one knew about her rabbit feeding and with the entry of the young woman into the yard all the rabbits had scampered out of the yard before the young woman entered. Sylvia said, "How do you know? How do you know I feed the rabbits?" The young woman replied with gentleness and kindness "Oh, I know many things about you Sylvia. I know about the poem you wrote last night. The poem was very nice. My boss was especially pleased. Do you mind if I sit down for a minute here in the lawn chair? Why don't you sit down here with me in the other lawn chair and we can have a chat?"

Not knowing why, Sylvia sat down and remained silent, mostly out of awe because no one could know she wrote a poem last night. No one could know…except God. There was silence for what seemed like an eternity to Sylvia. In the silence a million questions seemed to filter through Sylvia's mind. Sylvia broke the silence by saying "You are an angel aren't you? You are not a mortal being are you? Why don't I see your wings? Why are you here?" The young woman smiled and laughed. The young woman replied, "Well Sylvia, you knew immediately. My wings don't show because of an order I followed. For reasons even we in the band don't know, we don't show the wings very often. I came to give you a message. My message to you is to hold fast, to keep praying, to never give up, and to never relent. God knows your needs. God hears your prayers for others. God also knows about your pain. You need some answers and if I may, I would like to help you understand how things are in your universe. Your pain has become intense. We know this. We are grieved over your pain and we know you feel quite hopeless and helpless, especially now since the pain has become more and more disabling to you. Sylvia, I am going to reveal a truth to you known only to a few mortals. The truth is I have a counterpart on the other side. I even know his name but I will never utter it. My counterpart in the darkness is attacking you in order to try and get you to renounce God and renounce Christ. By making you give up and give in, the other side wins. The reason you are being attacked with the pain is because the other side has no other options. Pain is the only way they have of trying to destroy you. You have a heart and mind for God and for Christ Jesus. You pray daily even when you are in pain. You pray even when your mind wanders because of the pain. You keep believing and keep trusting in the Lord against all human reason. Against all human reason, you have faith God loves you and cares for you. I can assure you, God indeed loves you and God indeed will reward you for your faithfulness. It is especially important for you to win the moment. My main mission today is to get you to win the moment. Because of your pain, you forget to win the moment. Pain has a way of blinding people. Being blinded by the pain, people feel they are losing their life to the pain. The pain causes hopelessness, helplessness, chronic fatigue, and a caving in of the heart and spirit. To win the moment, you must try to win every moment, one moment at a time. If there is anything my counterpart wants, it is for you to lose the moment one moment after another instead of winning the moment. My counterpart wants you to be overwhelmed by the pain. When you hold fast and never give up, God rewards you with a victory lasting for eternity. The Lord wants you to break up every 30 minutes into one minute time spans. Then you are to win each of those one minute increments, one minute after another. You will be amazed at how much more productive you will become. What most people do not understand is God wants victory from every person, no matter who they are or what they must face. God does not desire a public victory so much as He wants a private victory over the darkness from every person. Certainly, it would be easier for you if you could win a battle for God and be proclaimed a victor in some public way. However, God is not always pleased with that kind of ego and selfishness feeding event. God is glorified in private victory one little moment of victory after another. God is glorified when you hold fast and live your life for Him rather than living your life to get applause, acclaim, or attention from other people. Although you can and must win one minute victories, you will always have the pain in this life. However, when you see Jesus for the first time, your pain will be gone in an instant and you will have only a faint memory of the difficulty you faced in this life. When you win one minute victories, we all celebrate with you. You must understand, because God only wants total and complete victory over the darkness, your pain will go on. However, the Lord Jesus, our Lord who you love, has overcome the world and in His heart your heart rests. For every one minute battle you win, there are shouts of joy and victory in heaven. When you pray in your pain, those prayers are the mightiest prayers of all. Those prayers, the prayers you pray in your pain, reach the highest heaven and they go right into the heart of God."

Sylvia's eyes filled with tears and she said, "I want another life. I want any other kind of life free of my pain and free of my imprisonment. Can you give me another life?" After a brief pause the young woman spoke and said, "I am sorry but your life is too valuable for us to change. Your life, your prayers, and your struggle against the darkness are like a vital part of a piece of machinery for Christ. If you were to be given another life, the Lord Jesus would not be able to secure the victory He now enjoys with you. We know you want another life. We know how much you hurt. We know you want another way to live your life. However, there is too much at stake here. Keeping you here, keeping you winning small victories one minute at a time, is a matter of world interest to God. Do not think the important events of the world are in the news. Do not think the important events of the world are known to anyone in the world. Our Lord's work is the work of the supernatural. In the supernatural world your prayers and your dedication to keeping the faith are of the very highest importance. You cannot know what would be lost if your life track were to change. Everyone has a destination. All the destinations add up to a destiny for the world. When someone moves away from striving toward their destiny, the destiny of the world is affected.

Your destiny is unique to you and you alone. Your destiny is like a fingerprint. Like your fingerprint, God ordained before you were conceived that you would fulfill your destiny. It is because your destiny has been interrupted by Satan's attack that you can bring more glory to God by holding fast and hanging on until you see Jesus face to face. God can do the impossible. When your track to your destiny was interrupted God gave you a new track to get to your destiny. If your life track to your destiny is interrupted again by Satan, then God will give you still another track to your destiny. In the spiritual war between God and Satan, there is a continual battle between them. By always pointing your will toward God, you align your will to the light of the world and help Him fulfill His destiny through you.

In God's plan and in His heart, you have one true destiny which is God's heavenly home. When Satan attacked you with so much vengeance and inflicted so much pain upon you, you could have given up and never have kept striving toward your destiny. In God's universe of victory, striving toward your destiny is a billion times more important than actually reaching your destination. This is because in striving and trying, in keeping the faith, in being obedient against all obstacles and attacks, you will arrive at God's destination in Heaven.

In the tangible world, you cannot arrive at a destination without physically arriving at a certain place. In the supernatural world, a world without tangible limits, you can arrive at God's destination simply by willing yourself to be where God wants you to be. Do not be deceived by the tangible world because the tangible world does not work like the intangible. In the tangible world, what appears to be defeat and loss can mean total victory in the intangible world. In the tangible world, death looks like total defeat and the end of all things. However, in God's kingdom, death in the tangible world is swallowed up in the victory of eternal life. In God's kingdom, death in the tangible world is the beginning all the good and great things of eternal life. Sylvia, you have a choice in all things. Those of us on God's side want you to always choose us. When you choose us, I promise we hold you close and we pour God's light of love and peace over you. I cannot promise you healing or an end to your pain. However, I can promise you victory, power, and a peace very few people on earth know anything about.

What you are to do is use your pain against the powers of darkness. Every time you feel even the slightest bit of pain, tune in to the love of God and you will feel the power of God within you bolstering you and giving you strength. When you feel the power of God in your pain, take advantage of His power and strike back at the pain. Strike back or counterattack the dark powers by reminding yourself of how important you are and how beloved you are by God. Counterattack the dark powers by remembering the truths of our conversation today. Remember you are being attacked by the dark powers because God has given you a precious destiny and the dark powers want you to give up on God's destiny for you. Remember, every time you hurt, God is also touching you. In all this, your suffering has meaning and a purpose. Your suffering is to be used by you to glorify God. When you are suffering, you are never to whine or complain. As difficult as this sounds, you are to carry your pain with joy because God has called you to be His special warrior in this great spiritual battle. When you use your suffering in this way, you begin to gain power over your suffering instead of letting your suffering gain power over you.

I must leave you now. I know you have many questions but I must leave for my mission has been completed." The young woman rose from her chair and walked to the gate and turned to face Sylvia once again. The young woman smiled and said, "One moment please", then walked through the gate.

Sylvia stood up and walked to the gate but the young woman had disappeared in an instant after the gate closed. Sylvia treasured these truths because Sylvia knew the truth and in knowing the truth she was free, even when the chains of her pain bound her down and imprisoned her, Sylvia was free. Sylvia was now more determined than ever to live with purpose and intent because of her pain rather than letting her pain take away her purpose and intent.

Psalm 23

A Psalm of David.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. (KJV)
