Our Current Virtual Church Message

Door Number One Or Door Number Two

George: Where am I?

The Moderator: Hi George. You are in the decision room.

George: How did I get here?

The Moderator: People get here various ways by various means. How you got here is not as important as your being here. Most important is what decide here.

George: Why am I here?

The Moderator: You are here to make a decision. Most people never get to face the consequences of their life but you have been privileged. You get to make a decision about your destiny in eternity. Most people never make a destiny decision and tragically for them, they suffer the consequences. You see those two doors over there? The left door leads to eternal pain, suffering, and torment…a place called hell. The right door leads to heaven.

George: You have to be joking.

The Moderator: Oh no, I am quite serious George. You are in a place where you can decide your fate for eternity. Look at door number one, the door on the left. Door number one is glowing red hot. Door number one is the default door. By default door I mean door number one is the door people are sent through if they make no decision for Christ.

George: Wait a minute! God is a good guy. God does not send people to a place of eternal pain and suffering.

The Moderator: You are right George. God is not the sender. You are the sender. You are the person who sends yourself into eternal pain and suffering or eternal peace and love according to the decision you make. You make the decision about your fate.

George: I am a good person. I always tried to treat people right. I have never really been into religion but I know God will give me a pass.

The Moderator: No, George. God will not give you a pass. This is the moment of your decision. If you choose Christ and the door on the right, you don't need a pass. If you refuse to choose the door on the right, that's door number two, or you put off choosing the door on the right, you automatically go to the left door. Can you smell the sulfur coming from under the left door? Can you smell the burning flesh? Can you hear the screams of torment?

George: Yes, but listen, this must be some kind of joke. This isn't possible. This isn't happening.

The Moderator: No, sorry George. Your being here is no joke. Just remember, if you make no decision, you get the door on the left, the hot door where the sulfur smell and the smell of burning flesh is coming out. Here, I have some insulated gloves so you can open the door on the left. You can't touch the door handle on the left door or you would burn your hand. Here, take the glove and open the door on the left.

George: Uh. Uh. No, that's OK, I, uh, uh, think I'll take your word for it. I'm not the religious type. I can feel the heat and smell the stench. I've just never been interested. But, I don't want to burn forever either.

The Moderator: George, are you perfect?

George: No, no, I'm not perfect. I have made my mistakes.

The Moderator: George, did you ever hurt anyone…hurt anyone on purpose?

George: Uh, yeah, I've hurt people. I didn't mean to…well, maybe, uh, yeah I did mean to hurt people but I'm sorry now. Is there any way you can stop the stench from coming from around door number one? And the sounds of people screaming…can you turn off the screams? This is horrible.

The Moderator: George, have you done a lot of bad things in your life?

George: Uh, yeah. I have not lived a very good life in that respect.

The Moderator: George, are you sorry for the life you have lived.

George: I do not want to admit this, but yes, I am sorry.

The Moderator: George, go over to the other door, the door on the right, and open the door on the right. There is nothing bad behind the door. You will not be harmed or hurt. Go ahead, open the door.

George went over to the door on the right and opened the door. What George saw and what he experienced cannot fully be put into words. What George saw was a tiny glimpse of heaven. As George stood at the open doorway on the right, George experienced the love of Christ in life changing ways. In front of the doorway a bluebird, a red bird, and a dog appeared. These creatures of God began to talk to George in his language. God's three creatures explained the sacrifice of Christ in ways George could fully understand. George's heart was opened. George turned away from his present way of sinful thinking, being, and living. Then the door closed.

George: Did you see them? Did you see the dog, the red bird, and the blue bird?

The Moderator: No George, I didn't see anything.

George: But they were right here. They talked to me. I can't explain it but they told me things about Christ, about life, the universe, and reality no one could ever know on their own. I want to stay here. I want to stay where the love is. The love…I, I, have never felt anything like it. I can't explain it. I want to stay here and walk through the door on the right where the love of Christ is.

The Moderator: I'm sorry George, you were only sent here to make a decision. You were only sent here so you could more fully understand about Christ and all other things. When you wake up you will think you had a dream, but on your night stand you will see an angel feather and three other items to help you remember all you have seen and experienced here.

George's alarm went off at its preset time of 4:30 A.M. George didn't hit the snooze button because he remembered the dream. George pulled himself up out of bed. George looked over at his night stand and on the night stand he saw a picture of the talking red bird, the talking blue bird, and the talking dog. George also saw a feather.
