About the truth concerning sin…

2 Peter 2:7 and if he rescued Lot , a righteous man, who was distressed by the filthy lives of lawless men 8 (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard) (NIV)

If we are not tormented by our sin and our lawlessness from God’s laws, we remain enslaved. If we are not tormented by the sin we see in our life and we are not tormented by the sin we see in the world, we end up having no personal freedom. No matter where a person lives, no matter how high a person climbs or how low a person falls in the eyes of the world, when sin takes over a person’s life, then sin becomes a slave master and the sinner becomes the slave. The chains of our sin are not made of metal or steel. However, the chains of our sin are designed by Satan to destroy, corrupt, and kill our heart, mind, soul, and body. There is a saying, “You are part of the problem or part of the solution.” In our life, sometimes we are so overwhelmed by problems caused by our sin we don’t even admit there is problem, let alone a solution. Our sin not only enslaves us but our sin blinds us to the truth about our problems. We are supposed to be godly and devout children of God. We are supposed to be clean and holy before God. However, our sin blinds us and we lose sight about who it is we are supposed to be. We lose sight and fail to see we are supposed to be humble and devout children of God living in righteousness.
