Previous Daily Devotional About
the power of prayer, Part 3 of 5 Psalm
42:8 By day the Lord directs his love, at night his song is with me--a prayer to
the God of my life. (NIV) The
power of prayer can make us physically stronger. No, we will not become
super-strong in the physical sense by prayer alone. But prayer can give us just
a little extra boost of energy to get us over the top. The
power of prayer removes blindness. We all walk around with failing eyes. We do
not see the world as Christ wants us to see the world. We do not see others the
way Christ wants us to see them. When we pray, the power of prayer brings us new
eyes to see. We can then exclaim, "once I was blind, but now I see" The
power of prayer invigorates the mind. Our mind has the opportunity in prayer to
contemplate and meditate upon the infinite. In prayer, our mind can contemplate
the infinite possibilities available to us not just in the present, but also in
the future. Our mind can expand in prayer to such a degree we can see heaven in
our mind's eye.
