About knowing and doing the truth…

Luke 8:21 But Jesus answered and said to them, "My mother and my brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it." (NKJV)
Listening, reading, and knowing the truth from the word of God is important. However, it is not enough to just listen, read, and hear God’s truth. We can program a computer to read and speak the truth in the form of Bible verses. However, the computer is just a machine and the computer is not capable of doing the truth. You can have the whole Bible memorized and never love anyone. You can be the world’s leading expert on the Bible and never reach out to anyone in love and compassion. You can know everything about Christian theology and never forgive anyone. We become family members or one with God, only if we do what he wants us to do from His word and truth. If we really love the Lord, we will love and cherish Him and love and cherish others in His name because we know His truth in our hearts. You are truly God’s child when you do God’s word by living a righteous life. You are truly God’s child when you do God’s word by resisting temptation and shunning sinful thoughts and activities. When you commit your life to doing His word of love, He gives you the extra power and extra strength you need to live the way He wants you to live.
