Previous Daily Devotional About how Christ does not just watch us… John 11:33 When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. We too often think about God being "up there" in heaven. We too often falsely think about Christ being aloof from us and so far above us He does not care much about what happens to us. However, in all our trials, tribulations, and afflictions, Christ is deeply moved and troubled in our troubles. He doesn’t just watch us from afar. He isn’t just sitting back observing us with no feelings for us. He is troubled and deeply moved when we are in trouble or face trouble. When you are hurting, He is hurting with you. When you are hurting, His arm is around you. When you weep, Christ weeps with you. You serve a personal Christ. Although you cannot explain how He works, you are never lost in the billion or so people who walk planet earth. Christ walks beside you like you are the only person on earth or anywhere in the universe. Indeed, Christ is a personal friend, living with you at all times and in all places. |
