Previous Daily Devotional About
being more than wise and learned… Matthew
We
can be incredibly smart. We can be incredibly wise. We can be incredibly
sophisticated about the ways of the world. We can be incredibly mature. We can
be very adult in our actions and in our thinking. We can be the world’s
leading expert on many subjects. However, there is a problem in possessing all
these attributes. The problem people face, no matter whether they are smart,
wise, sophisticated, mature, adult, or the world’s expert is we can still miss
the deepest truths. You
can be incredibly smart but still miss the deepest truth that God loves you. You
can be wise about the ways of the world but miss the deepest truth that eternal
life is a reality made readily available through Christ. You can be the
world’s smartest person but still not understand how to forgive by letting an
offense against you float away in God’s grace. God’s will is structured in a
way requiring you to be more than wise and learned. The truth, the most
important truth in our daily comings and goings, is given to those who are
humble as little children before God. God’s wisdom and truth is given to those
of who love Him and who trust Him with their life in child-like faith.
