A Prayer About Where God Lives
Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God, Truly Awesome And
Ever-present Holy Spirit,
Precious Lord Jesus, I love you.
I build and make things with my hands.
I earn money and I use the money to buy things I possess.
I have helped maintain my church building.
I take pride in what I build and maintain for my church.
As much pride as I and other people take in our church building, I know
you do not live in the brick, mortar, and plaster.
Our great cities of concrete and steel give us great pride.
However, things are made by man are not made by you.
What are the great cities of man compared to your galaxies and solar
systems?
Although I may sometimes forget, I know you live within me, not outside of
me.
You are within my heart and you do not yell and scream at me to be your
child.
You are within my heart and you do not yell and scream at me to follow
you.
In your love, you are kind and gentle.
You are always gently calling me and touching my heart and life every
hour.
When I go to search for you or wonder whether you are real or not, I must
remember to look within my heart.
Within me, in a quiet and gentle corner of my heart, you are there.
Within me, in a place within my heart I do not like to go, you are hanging
from the cross.
Within me, in a room full of my mistakes and transgressions, I find you
erasing all the times of my sinning and erasing the times of my
ungodliness.
Thank you, Lord Jesus.
Thank you for loving me so much you would not only be willing to die for
me but also be willing to live within me when I do not deserve your favor.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus
Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can
rely.
Amen
