A Prayer About The Nearness Of God

Precious Father,
Precious Lord Jesus,
Wonderful Holy Spirit,

As the breeze gently brushes against my face,
As the dragonfly zips across the quiet pond,
As the sun sets in a glory of golden splendor,
As the crickets chirp in the green grass,
I know you are near me.

As I cuddle a newborn baby,
As I touch the hand of a loved one,
As I help the homeless,
As I battle against the darkness,
I know you are near me.

As I study the wisdom of your Word,
As I come to know more about how things work,
As I grow in strength and character,
As I dream of the impossible becoming possible,
I know you are near me.

As I gather with friends,
As I write to family,
As I pray for others,
As I pour out my heart to you,
I know you are near me.

Just over my shoulder,
Just right here next to me,
Just a foot or two away,
Just a thought within me makes you real,
I know you are near me.

Such silent power,
Such overwhelming love,
Such healing forgiveness,
Such liberating truth,
I know you are near me.

Lord Jesus, I love you so very, very much.
