Words Of Faith About Being More Humble Before God To
tell the truth… You
may want your own way. You
may want what you want the way you want it. Too
often, when you pray, you can pray to get the Lord to give you what you want. Your
high-sounding phrases, your "Amens", your "Praise God's",
too often may not reflect what is really within you. Too
often, you may come to the Lord hoping the Lord will deliver to you what you
want, rather than hoping the Lord delivers to you what He wants for you or from
you. When
you think about these matters, and reflect, you can be sorry. You
can be sorry about trying to push what you want onto the Lord. You
can be sorry about praying the Lord delivers to you what you want rather than
praying the Lord will help you deliver what He wants. If
so, ask the Lord this moment to forgive you. Ask
the Lord this moment to forgive you for being selfish and thinking only of
yourself. Ask
the Lord this moment to forgive you for being so ego-filled. Ask
the Lord this moment to forgive you for not thinking about Him instead of
thinking about what the Lord wants for you and from you. Ask
Him and the Lord will help you be more humble in His sight. Ask
Him and the Lord will help you want only His will for your life. Give
the Lord praise this day for standing by you even if you turn selfish. Give
the Lord praise for not deserting you even if you desert His will for your life. Ask
Him and He will help you do better than you have ever done before. Praise
His name. Amen. |
